Game Recap

Sabres 4, Flyers 3 (OT)

Curtis Brown had enough broken lumber to start a bonfire at center ice. He had broken six sticks in Tuesday's game taking faceoffs. Sabres goalie Dominik Hasek was fed up with the pieces of wood laying in the zone. He told Brown to change sticks. Brown chose a new one-piece composite stick. He took one shot with it. That's all the Sabres needed. Brown's first whack at the puck went top shelf on Roman Cechmanek at 6:13 of the 4th period. The game was froced to overtime after Dan McGillis scored shorthanded on Hasek midway through the third. Miroslav Satan, Donald Audette, and Chris Gratton scored for Buffalo. The stick that Brown chose to stop his breaking woes, was a popular new one-piece composite stick from Easton. The Synergy is a silver one pice composite stick that weighs less than a pound. Hopefully he stays with it.
